We have a small but enthusiastic group of singers who form the basis of a choir for Sunday services, Church Festivals and other special events.
Attendance is flexible and we do not robe for services. There are no auditions, and you do not need to be able to read music - only to be able to sing in tune and to be willing to learn. For more information please contact Chris Cobley (01730 823555) or the Vicar. |
Until 1890 there were only 6 bells in the tower. The oldest of these was the fourth, cast by William Tozier in 1729. Bells one, two and three were all cast at Whitechapel between 1782 and 1834. In 1890 Taylors rehung the bells lower in the tower in a new wood and iron frame. They also cast two new bells and recast the two heaviest bells. In 1990 Taylors retuned and rehung the bells on new fittings and further augmented the bells to ten. The bells are now a fine sounding 18cwt ring of 10 in excellent condition......
