Our vision
Our commitments

We are a small rural village primary school with big ambitions!

We have recently achieved:

The installation of networked interactive whiteboards, with use throughout the curriculum.
The introduction of French teaching to all children.
A school travel plan which has been highly commended.
An increase in opportunities for music tuition.
Doubling the PE provision for all children.
A reading initiative involving members of the community to help and encourage reading.
An increase in the provision for swimming lessons.

We have many actions in progress:

Developing our grounds to provide an extensive and imaginative outdoor learning area.
Working towards achieving a Trailblazers award for creative outdoor learning.
Strengthening a school link with a school in Ghana through a teacher visit.
Broadening the curriculum further by offering extra activities and more after school clubs.
Setting up a joint school initiative to ensure gifted and talented pupils achieve their potential.
Taking part in the village ‘Greening’ campaign to promote environment and climate change awareness. We aim to achieve Healthy Schools status in 2007/8.

The school aims to:

Develop creative and responsible children who are able to deal with diverse situations and to direct their lives with purpose.

Deliver education that fosters understanding according to each child’s own unique needs and capabilities.

Stimulate the desire for learning and guide it, without interfering with a child’s natural desire to teach him/herself and become independent.

The school aims to:

Enable every child to fulfil their unique learning potential, with education that meets the needs of each child.

Help every child develop the skills, knowledge and personal qualities needed for life and work by providing a safe, caring and skilled environment.
