The team which won the 2006 Betteridge Cup.

East Meon's soccer teamfirst joined the Meon Valley League in the 1953-54 season, Division1. They were managed by villager ‘Jumbo’ Blackman and competed against such teams as Westend, Swanmore and Bitterne Nomads. The team had a chequered history, playing on a borrowed field and using a decrepit hut for its changing room. All that changed in the 2003/4 when a Hampshire League standard field and pavilion were built.

The Cricket Club is a village affair, with its teams rooted firmly in East Meon.

Its ground is attractively located at the South East of the village and the team is sponsored by Ye Olde George Inn, to which teams repair at the end of play for sandwiches and reminiscences of the match that has just been played

Needle matches are those against nearby villages, particularly Steep and West Meon. Social events include games against the President's XI, captained by Bill Tyrwhitt Drake, the Court House XI, with George and Clare Bartlett entertaining both teams to supper at the Court House after the match, and regular visitors Captain Scott’s XI.... 2008 Fixture List>>
